8U, 10U, and 12U SELECT Teams

Our 8U, 10U, and 12U SELECT teams are designed for players who have developed advanced softball skills and seek higher-level competition. The SELECT program, created by USA Softball, offers girls the chance to compete at an elite level while also participating in their regular recreational season.

Tryouts and Commitment

To be considered for the MGS SELECT team, players must attend tryouts and be selected based on their skills and spirit. Tryout dates will be announced later. (Be on the lookout 12/24) 

Commitment Requirements

Players and parents must commit to the following:

• Financial Commitment: Agree to share the costs associated with the season, including uniform, tournament/game fees, special instruction, etc. Costs are determined by the manager and typically range from $250 to $350 per player.
• Participation: Players must commit to attending all practices, games, tournaments and friendlies or provide advanced notice to the coach if unable to attend. 

We strongly encourage players who wish to play up in the Rec Spring Season to participate in the Spring SELECT program within their respective division. This proactive approach ensures that we field our most competitive teams in every division.

The SELECT Committee (Select Commissioner, Division Rep, Player Agent, VP and Director of Coaches), in consultation with the Select Manager, will determine the players on the SELECT team. These players will be selected based on skill level and ability. The goal is to form 2 select teams per division, with there being a Gold level team and a Silver level team.
